Thanks for the feedback. Battery life will definitely be a concern as will durability issues. The environment where they will be used can be pretty harsh and they will surely be subjected to frequent abuse. Field Tablets will have to be industrial models that are ruggedized. I am just starting to look into these as possible field devices since next generation tablets are starting to be produced and I hope they will become less expensive by the time I'm ready to implement it. What kind of app and environment are you using with the Tablets?
