To all who replied so rapidly, thank you.

And now, to answer my own question, to completion:

SET DEFAULT TO ADDBS(JUSTPATH(SUBSTR(SYS(16), AT(":", SYS(16)) -1)))

which will give you the fully qualified path to the executing prg or exe.
