In addition to the article here, there is one available at
www.microsoft.com/vfoxpro called "Choosing the right database" or something like that. The bottom line is that Access is not good for applications that has thousands of records or more than about 10 concurrent users. Add to this the fact that Access is really an end user tool (note: it ships with Office) and VFP is a developer tool (it ships with Visual Studio). Microsoft will tell you all this too.
