>I have converted a fpw 2.6 app to vfp6. The conversion went well except the screens. The screens look perfect in the design environment, but when compiled and the app is run the screens are not how they look in the design environment, the fields and labels are all jumbled together.

Mike

When you say converted screens, you really mean you redesigned using Forms and objects, right?
If what you mean is you recompiled old screens (using the obsolete @..Say command), then you are out of luck as that is not the way to go and will always look awful, no matter what you do.

In general, take it from many people here that have gone through the painful process of jumping out of FP 2.x into the wonderful world of Visual OOP development. This is the time for a complete rewrite, never a conversion. Sure, your business rules code, being XBase is still usable but all the architecture, data acess logic and GUI should be properly redone.

If you need help and guidance, there are many books on the subject, lots of information here at the UT and in data repositories like the Fox Wiki, and you can always ask questions when stuck, and we will try to help.

Another question is why do you go from FPW2.6 to a VFP a few versions old. You should upgrade to the current VFP (SP1) which is a much better and more powerful platform.
