I've developed software package including bigger part written in VFP and smaller one written in VB.
The distribution process revealed some problems:
1. Firstly I tried to combine VFP and VB distribution files into one package using VFP setup wizard which I am more familiar with. Everything worked fine until I tested installed app and found that VB cannot open Fox tables even if corresponding DLL was really included in the package.
2. To work around, I created two separate installation packages by VFP and VB setup wizards respectively. Then I still use VFP package as the main one including COMPRESSED VB files with separate Setup.exe into it.
I presumed to run VB Setup.exe automatically after installation (there is checkbox "Post-setup executable" in VFP wizard). Unfortunately, it seems that post-setup executable doesn't work and I get message "Setup was not completed successfully".
3. So now I still use VB compressed files incorporated into VFP package. Installation creates Program group with 2 items: one of them is just to run VB setup, and user must do it manually.
Excuse me for probally to long description. I will appreciate any suggestions/comments to get nicer solution.
