Look at the BitAND() and BitOR() functions, they allow you to turn off and on individual bits:

i = 0
i = bitor( i, 0x1000 )
? i && 4096
i = bitor( i, 0x010F )
? i && 4367
i = bitand( i, bitnot( 0xF0F0 ) )
? i && 271
