I'm experimenting with autoincrementing fields in one of my applications but I am having problems with one piece of code. I'm doing an INSERT into a optimistic row buffered table and a 1502 error is generated every time. The table is not locked and there are no controls bound to the table. If I change the code to an APPEND BLANK then a REPLACE it works without an error. The code worked fine before I added the autoincrementing field.

Changing this code here is not a problem, but I use INSERTS throughout my application and I don't want to change all of them. Can anyone tell me what causes a 1502 error the FoxPro help is useless.
