Aaron,

>Basically, I am looking to marry an application framework with a business object modelling system to take care of the tedious side of the data and business object layers and also the maintenance of the back-end database schemas.

>Your planned support of ObjectSpaces is very good but it still leaves me with the problem of finding a modelling system to generate (and regenerate) the classes and the ObjectSpace OSD, RSD and MSD files. I realise this isn't a MM.NET problem as such but if you have encountered any other modelling system which will work alongside MM.NET, I would appreciate a recommendation.

We haven't officially announced anything yet (but I guess this is as good a time as any), one of the modeling approaches we are supporting is "the other ORM" Object Role Modeling. At VSLive San Francisco at the end of the month we'll be demonstrating the use of Visio ORM diagrams to design business entities as well as business rules. From these diagrams you can automatically generate the back end database, as well as the ORM XML mapping file including business rules defined in XML. Changing a rule in the Visio ORM diagram allows you to automatically update the constraints in the database as well as the business rules. We'll post more information as time goes by, but it's a VERY nice feature.

>By the way, do you have a roadmap for MM.NET that you can post here ? Any plans for winform and webform builders, etc. ?

We do eventually plan to generate Windows Forms and Web Forms, but that won't be in the next version. We're concentrating on the ORM functionality now and will add the UI generation later.
