You need an imagelist control to assign to the trreviews ImageList property. Also note that Version 5 OCX (COMMCtrl) present with XP themes. The newer Version 6 controls do not (look old fashion).

In addition to Sergey's advice, checkout download #16575. It presents a framework that allows you to retain specific images for treeview items in a file.
