David,
I am currently working on some communication stuff and came across this. Not sure if you are interested but using this service you can have anyone, anywhere send email without worrying about the SMTP thing. The price is very resonable. $35 a year to send 450 emails a day! It looks like it will work well for us because we wrote our own email server using the Marshalsoft DLL and are not using Outlook. This way I can send the communication module with everything already set up.

>Well, my problem was definitely programmer error. However, just to be sure, I set up the system so that the user can specify the SMTP server. I did find that when I use MAPI and don't enter any MAPI server, then the default email client is used. This may work beautifully for these clients that don't know what an SMTP server is.
