I will forward this to Chad... He may be interested to find out why he sometimes gets 'stuck' here and there in the office, working on this and that for everyone. All he needs to do is scrape the gum off of his foot and then we couldn't catch him so easily. <s>

Hope all goes well for your install...

Thanks again for your help Terry.

>Great bit of gum shoeing!!! This will be most helpful. So - REMOVING an XP user's profile on a WIn2K server eliminates the error. I will go out to MSDN and try to find some document on this. I guess not many of us are ISE installing VFP 8 applications on XP desktops connected to Win2K servers?
>
>If you hear of more let me know. But this will be helpful for npw. I will get back with any references later tonight. Thanks!.

>>I talked to Chad this morning and this is what he said:

>>So here is what I discovered.
>>
>>1. Stacy, Jodi, and Chad have profiles stored out on the network.
>>2. 2 of us have WindowsXP machines and Jodi has logged into an XP machine on the network.
>>3. All three of us get the C00005 error when logging onto Windows2000 machines and try to run it.exe
>>4. Anyone who did not have their profile on the network or have Windows2000 machines do not have this problem.
>>
>>I believe that the XP logon profile is not valid for the Windows2000 machine and in some way for lack of a better term is "corrupt".

>>>Great - now don't forget - it's important.
>>>
>>>>I kicked this one over to our network administrator's desk the other day - yes I will be sure to reply when we get the setup issue resolved...

>>>>>Now the question remains: How does it need to be setup so the user login can run it? Be sure to get back with us when you isolate that issue. I will also keep my nose to it. But the real question is "Why won't an admin installed VFP ISE EXE run under the user log in. Enjoy the moment - but there is still work to be done:)

>>>>>>Perfecto!!! - logged in as administrator on the machine and it works fine...

>>>>>>>>>There are more debugging features in the development mode that might help isolate or localize the C0000005.
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>Some of us have even posted code that will generate a C5. Example: A remove object (a child [container] of a form) has focus, a C5 will be raised. Howver, when the parent has focus, the C5 remains mute.
