Another way to do similar to what you're doing is...

ltEndDate = TTOC((DTOT(ldStartDate + 1) - 1))

Yet another idea - in one of my applications, the shift date (defined as the date the shift started, since night shift ends the next day) is entered. When reports are run, the date range would be entered with the idea that the dates were when shifts began. In that situation, as Dan points out, the view definition types the shiftdate field as 'D' rather than 'T.'
