Hullo Craig -
its not specific to XP Pro.
There are examples for the WIN API Sleep() function -
perhaps you might want to try that out ???

if your process is completely repetitive with NO User Input ?
I would suggest to ditch the timer and run the app with a scheduling program, such as Automate from Unisyn Technologies. [www.unisyn.com ]

Whilst it may be overkill for ONE app ? I'm sure you can think of ways to incoporate the usage of Automate in your data center .
