I have this label printer. TEC421 B.

It will work only from notepad on the generic printer.

From nowhere else.

The same file that was created under notepad and that contains exclusively text characters to which notepad adds carriage return and line feed , generates an error when copied from DOS, from vfp, from fpd, when printed from windows commander. My guess is that somehow somewhere, characters are sent to the printer that make it go south. This animal is overly sensitive.

What are my alternatives? I could drive the printer though the comm port, but you know me, I'd rather develop cyclic classes ...

I could ask for Georges' help, may be he could tell me how I could address the printer port directly with a API chMapi magic.

Or I could renew the 10 printers ... I
