Because, unfortunately, debugginb in VS .NET is often more an art than a science.

Are you following the instructions in the MM .NET Dev Guide topic "Stepping through MM .NET Code in the Debugger"? This USUALLY works, but sometimes it takes a little "coercing". In our last MM .NET class I had all students follow these instructions and it worked for everyone except for two students. Eventually, getting out of VS .NET or rebooting the machine seemed to fix it...removing and adding it back in again after a reboot also worked.

If you still can't get it to work, let me know.
