one can set up subdomains to be redirects ..
so
http://www.thissite.com/aspx?4,3,2222,GUID{87872A@#SdddsA}
might be redirected to live as a subdomain as
http://www.orders.thissite.com

it depends on how the server admin human set it up .

and method for redirect varies by OS and web server type
IIS, Apache, NT, W2K, linux, etc etc.

one a domain name is bought and registered and LIVE -
ie - www.thissite.com
the server admin person can set up subdomains to point
anywhere else [which I think is rather cool].
