I kind of hestitated because I'm not that terribly familiar with the Excel object model. However, given the results I had with 1-2-3, I think that counting the rows was probably not that significant.

One thing that I should note, however, is that if you can keep from making the application visible, do it. Otherwise, it will take much longer.
