Sergio,
The first thing I would do is to check the Application Mappings for the web site. Open IIS, go into the properties of the web site, click the Home Directory tab, then the Configuration button in the Application Settings area. On my IIS, .asp is mapped to C:\WINNT\System32\inetsrv\asp.dll.
I'm not aware of a utility to re-establish the built-in IIS mappings, so you could try editing the mapping manually.
Maybe someone else knows about such a utility?

P.S. What does the event log say?
