Every coin has a flip side. One thing Microsoft always must consider is why re-invent the wheel if that means they will kill third party vendors. What is most important, making new features or killing makers of tools which already has the new features. Quite honestly, I think Microsoft has chosen the right decision.

NB! Myself I use Rich Simpson's Mind's Eye Report Engine Control, it has much more features than Microsoft will ever put into VFP. I will be surprised if Rich will not be among the first to take advantage of the new reporter hooks in VFP9.
