Good Day,

I have an Access 2000 database that for reasons unknown to me becomes corrupt. On a daily basis the database is compacted and everything typically works fine. However once in a while when the databse is in use and users are entering data via a visual basic form (multi user environment with about 15 users at a time) an error pops up for a random user stating there was an error with saving the record. Then when I open the access database I get the following error message:

The database "{name}" needs to be repaired or isn't a database file.

You or another user may have unexpectedly quit Microsoft Access while a Microsoft Access database was open. Do you want Microsoft Access to attempt to repair the database?

If I select yes to try to repair the database it looks like it is fixing it and then it fails and Access closes itself. I can't get to the menus to try and compact and repair because it won't go past the first error message and if I choose "no" not to repair, then the database closes. This corruption is a random event but does occur at least once a month but can occur as much as 4 times a month. When it happens the only thing I can do is to restore a backup from the previous day but all of that days work is lost. I'd really like to keep this from happening again because it's becomming difficult to try and justify losing data that often.
Thank you so much for your help!
