On a multi-tasking system that may be doing something else this sounds like an exceptionally bad idea. If I couldn't print from Word while I had your app running I'd be royally annoyed.
If you need that level of control you'll probably need to integrate a 3rd party PDF printing solution into your app and limit printing from there.
