There's not much to evaluate. And the idea of what a framework is supposed to do seems to vary widely. On one end of the spectrum, there are several data access layer code generators (LLBLGen for example). Others tend to focus on the business layer combined with data modeling (Deklarit is an example) and some rudimentary UI prototyping. Then there are the application generators such as Ironspeed, Alachisoft, and CodeCharge. The prices vary considerably. And while you can create applications with these, I find them limiting and frustrating. Then you have frameworks like PDSA and Mere Mortals. The advantage of these kinds of frameworks is that they handle a lot of tedious plumbing issues such as security, localization, data-binding, UI components, and business logic components. PDSA's offering is roughly $15,000.00. Whew! MereMortals which is more feature rich is considerably less at $699.00 and the technical support is great.
As you might surmise, we evaluated a lot of products. In the end, we decided that MereMortals was the best overall solution for our product.

Carl.
