>>They still come in packages, or you still have to have the basic package, and there's no way to opt out of anything from that basic package. Just imagine being able to pick a channel of your choice, and having a teletext to find out what's playing where in a few seconds, without having to wait (almost four minutes now) for the list of channels to scroll, and paying only for what you really watch. The technology is available, and if it was mass distributed, it would be cheap. It's just that it would shatter the rating system, so it won't happen, regardless of any "popular demand" or anything else.

http://www.facets.org which was down for a while but is back up now. They have, for example, about eight titles by Dusan Makavejev, a couple on DVD, the rest on VHS. The VHS titles are probably NTSC, since they have a different icon for PAL.
The site responds with "Http client not supported", even if I attempt to open it in IE... because it may be doing something nasty, because it works fine when I turn off my firewall.
The choice of movies is, well, quite decent. They seem to have completely missed on Georgian movies, and largely miss the best Hungarian ones, but OTOH they do have a very complet Miloš Forman.
The prices are... well, as expected.
