I do believe those developers that do use it could be saying pretty much the exact same thing about you. It's a two way street.

But if you actually stopped and thought about it, don't you think it is conceiveable that some developers are using this feature as it is designed? If you don't then you are just as blind as you are accusing me of being.

I can even give you one usecase right off the top of my head. An file import system, where the enduser gets files periodically and this feature would allow them to pick the file.

Are there other ways to code the interface? Sure there are.

Would I code the interface this way? No I would not. But I am not every developer, and neither are you.
