I remember this happening a while back but dont recall the cause/solution....

A user runs a fox EXE (built w/ maxframe) and it looks like its gunna start up fine but it parks itself down on the task bar. The user has to rightclick on the app on the task bar and select maximize. (thats the familiar problem).

No application-wide timeouts in the app.
The desktop icon to lauch the program is NOT set to start minimized.

After maximizing, a 'Tip of the day' screen pops up but the modal form is up to high on the desktop to close it. So they are stuck. I have tried:

1) changing the monitor's resolution hoping to show the full helptip window to close
2) using an empty copy of the USERPREFS table
3) erasing FoxUser files

No luck.

I have read KB article 178117 but i dont believe its applicable. User started encountering problem after several months of use (with no updates).

Anyone have some advice?
How to close/move an open window via the keyboard?
