if you made update of old FP project there is useful tools http://www.eqeus.com/pdm.php - PDM is a tool which helps you to create a complete HTML documentation of your Visual FoxPro project. It creates a detailed description of all databases, classes, forms and programs. It is written in VFP.

If you start new project we use MS Visio. We have a exaple tempoate in Word for Tech specification. If you like I can send a sample to your e-mail
