I find it safer and simpler to avoid hacking- just move (not copy) the table (and any associated CDX, FPT) to the new home with DBC closed.

Then open the DBC, and table. You'll get a prompt + dialogue to Locate table: Just do it, and you should be all set.

For added precaution, make backup of DBC/table files first, and run

VALI DATA RECO

afterward.
