Title:
First-time grid user questions
Hi very kind, smart, and patient FP support community:
Using VFP ver 8.0, I'm attempting to put a 3 column grid on a form, the first 2 columns of which are to display a vendor's registration number, and the vendor's name (sourced from a table), and the third column is intended as an input field so the form's use can type in the number of widgets sold by each vendor.
Question 1) is a grid even the best control to use for such an interface? I've tried using both a listbox(to display the vendors) and an editobox(to receive the typed-in amounts) on that form, and achieved the desired functionalitym but things didn't line up so nicely, thus I'm seeking an alternative.
Question 2) assuming I should be using a grid control, all my attempt thus far to just have the grid display the vendor registration number and name, when I've run the form result in just a big blank rectangle appearing in the middle of the form.
I've read chapter 10 in the programmers guide, and have tried setting the properties of my grid both manually, and using the Grid Builder, but still get just a blank.
Any help is gratefully appreciated! Paul C.
