Hi all,

Thanks for all the useful tips. Now I got the books, read some chapters and catagorised the tasks for DBA/Developer.

Currently, the application has over 500K lines of code. More than half of it are business related. Others are generic/library functions. I am planning to go through the code base and move those data related code into stored procedure (sproc). Actually only those code that are heavily used. The rest will still be left in VFP. This means some existing functions will be split into sproc and VFP code. Does it sound the right approach? Will I end up doing some unncessary work if I just leave all code in VFP? Any suggesetions?

In addition, I need some testing tools that compare the the results of new and old applications. I will run the same test scripts in both the old and new applications. Use the tool to capture the change in the databases. Then compare the changes. Are there good tools out there?

Thanks again
