Now for that fuller description of what we do with sprintbd. we designed the application using the forms and tables. on one of the forms we have a button and the code behind it uses the export to csv function. when the pocket pc, a dell axim was our test platform with ppc2003, is in its cradle, or before for that matter, this button is clicked. it deletes the stock file and the customer file and creates a csv file for the transactions. this file is copied up to the desktop computer automatically using active synch, you have to have the option to synch files set. the foxpro application looks in this folder for the file and imports it. when it is finished importing it creates a new stock file and customer file and places these files in the synch folder. active synch copies these files to the handheld automatically. when the application is next run it checks to see if there are records on the stock and customer files and imports the new files before deleting the old transaction file. i know that this sounds a bit wierd, deleting the stock and cust files, but it was far easier than updating them. One thing though, when you use the copy to command in foxpro to create any files that you want to send to the pocket make sure that they have no extension.
