Hi,

I am currently in the process of trying to get our application that runs against a SQL Server database to use a Oracle 9i database.

To connect to the database I am using the Oracle ODBC Driver because it has support for CLOB/BLOB datatypes.

I am using dynamically created remote views in a temporary dbc, created at run-time. Most of the application runs fine, retrieval of data from Oracle is good, but when I try to use tableupdate on some of the views that contain clob fields, sometimes I get an ODBC error :

"ORA-24801 illegal parameter value in OCI lob function"

The strange part is that it doesn't occur always. I checked for Null values and maybe control characters in the field. Does anybody has any experience with this?

TIA,

Stefan
