Also close the project, if it's open and you've expanded the Data node of the tree it'll open the DBC, which you can see because the database selection combobox on the standard toolbar will enable and the database will be listed there. If you collapse the Data tab before closing the project VFP will not automatically open the database the next time the project opens.
