Enters wxpython (
www.wxpython.org) a toolkit based on wxwidgets, a very visible and strongly supported (borland is now) open-source project that provides platform-independant UI.
As i mentioned in my mail, there is no perfect solution... I'm just tinkering the thing for the moment with a view to dive in at the end of the year. I touch wood.
One thing is sure. I hate complexity. The things we build are complex enough to add programming complexity. Test python. You'll not regret the couple of hours you'll spend on it.
