You're correct that in managed code, it would be more difficult to use...you'd also have to assume that the Report Services uses the same general format as VFP reports.

In addition, pulling someone from Reporting Services would hurt the schedule of that group.

That would probably be a non-starter as I would guess that this has been realized in a managed language and there a probably a million reasons why this couldn't be refactored in a form that could be consumed by VFP.
