Once it is created, you either have to modify it in the View Designer to make it updatable or do it with code. The easiest way to get the code to do this programmatically is to run GENDBC that will create a PRG file with the code needed to recreate your DBC and all its objects.

Basically, you would use DBSETPROP to do all this.
