Hi,
The file is corrupted, i.e. the file size in the header does not equal the actual file size, this is a documented bug. It is usually a couple of extra characters on the end of the file, just append blank then pack and reindex.
It causes the transaction tracking to fail. See link

>Hi,
> I am working with VFP6 SP5 and am facing very peculiar problem. I have an import module that imports data from VFP free tables into my database tables most of the times that the data comes across fine but sometimes VFP loses data. I am importing within a transaction using APPEND FROM stmts.
>The problem is random in nature and cannot be easily reproduced and comes to fore only after some report or other does not bring up the expected data. On inspecting I have found that some fields do not contain the values as ones in the incoming tables.
