If there is no other way to scan through the list entries, you can always lock the screen. The will hide the scrolling and avoid the paint hits.

thisform.LockScreen = .t.
FOR iCounter = 1 TO ThisForm.lbxListbox.ListCount
  ThisForm.lbxListbox.listindex=iCounter
  cText=cText + alltrim(ThisForm.lbxListbox.value) + CHR(13)
ENDFOR
thisform.LockScreen = .f.
