I have tested that, and I can drop and recreate the trigger. I can even script it differently, and put that in as the new trigger successfully. But if I make the smallest change, even putting a space in and taking it back out again, I am unable to apply the change.
The difficulty is that I am creating a new DB, and it has at least a moderate level of complexity. The interface will be Web based, and the info in the DB has levels of access privleges. Security is of prime importance. Beyond login and table security, one way I plan to limit data access is by using views, and allowing input through the veiws via INSTEAD OF TRIGGERs. If I have to script each one, the developement time will be much longer.
I tried to find a place on MS.com that I could submit the error, but was unable to find one that did not take purchasing a support package.
As always, your help and comments are appriciated Sergey!

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.
