I have a VFP 8.0 form with a Grid on it that derives it's data from a dynamic Cursor, that is re-created based on value from ComboBox selection, that is used in SQL query.

It would probably be a lot simpler to create a parameterized view to use as the grid's RecordSource. Then all you need to do is add code to the combo's Valid() method to requery() the grid's recordSource based on the value of the combo box.
