As far as I know, whole PowerPoint must be installed to show the presentation.
However PowerPoint 2003 allows you to save presentation as a web-archive (*.mht file). I remember PowerPoint XP also have this feature and maybe previous versions too.
Presentation in the *.mht file can be shown with Microsoft Web Browser ActiveX control. I just tested - it even have a button for fullscreen slide-show!
