It is amazing how far MS has taken VB. When I studied Basic on an Apple II Plus (grade 11 Computer Science in 1983) it was clearly seen as a stepping stone to languages like Pascal and C. This was driven home by the name of the language. BASIC - Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code.
My, how far it has come. :-)
