Have you tried running it other applications in the root? I mean, it is just the folder, you could always point IIS to have its root anywhere. Have you tried other projects in the folder, or have you tried pointing the root to a different directory? I'm going to try a test of my own, and see if I can reproduce it. What is the application doing anyways, perhaps that can give us a clue.
