I've only seen times this slow when one of the following conditions was true:

a) as David said, anti-virus auto-scanning (Norton in particular) is on.
b) the network DNS was incorrect (e.g., no local DNS, or the local DNS pointing to the ISP's DNS as primary)
c) over a WAN (VSS was not made to operate over a WAN).

Other than than, anything over about 20 seconds (and this is for a project with 300 entities, and you can guess how many forms) would be cause for concern and investigation.

>Does anyone know if there has been any improvement in the speed of opening a project that is part of the VSS. Right now it takes 2-4 minutes to open the project. I don't open the project itself very often, but when I do, wow it's slow.
