We would like to add the ability to send e-mails in our application can anybody give me a idea were to start. Is it using Outlook Express or MAPI ??

If all you need to do is send e-mail, I would go with an SMTP solution rather than Outlook Automation or MAPI. The reason is that, with an SMTP solution, you do not need to work around the Draconian Security Patch From H*ll.
