As df said, there's no problem of any significance in DECLAREing the same function multiple times.

I've jumped back and forth on handling this situation, however. There are two approaches that I can see. First, you simply declare them as needed and never clear them. Second, (and this applies only to 7.0/8.0) you declare them when needed and clear them when you're done. The latter approach does tend to encapsulate their use more, but can create problems.

Frankly, you can say that I'm honestly at a loss to recommend one approach over the other.
