I think the ItemidToIndex or IndexToItemID may hold the key, but I'm struggling to figure out how.

Off the top of my head, I would say that the easiest thing to do is to change the code so that it operates on the control's internal list collection and then do an ASCAN to find the corresponding item in the array. Of course, since I am do not know exactly how the control in the ffc works, this may be more trouble than its worth...
