Oh! Maybe I understood you incorrectly.
Of course local session could be locked by a screen saver. Look at the Display Properties -> Screen Saver. There is the lock option there.
However, locking is not a log out. The programs continue to work and the user can return to them by typing the password.
Maybe there is also interactive log out policy there for Server.
But the cause of the problem could be really disconnection from Microsoft networks server.
/A new technology turns into completely outdated stuff before you have a time to read "Getting Started..." section.
/If there are some "system programmers" then others are unsystematic.
