Thanks for the reply. The problem is still with the INTERACTIVECHANGEEVENT in the EDITBOX. The EDITBOX has a CONTROLSOURCE called (eg) cEntry. The contents of cEntry should change with each character entered into the EDITBOX. This is not happening. The contents of cEntry remain "" (empty) unless I put a SET STEP ON in the INTERACTIVECHANGEEVENT. Therefore I cannot set FIRSTELEMENT or TOPINDEX or anything to the current interactive value of the EDITBOX.
