>I have a client who is purchasing an IBM InfoPrint 1145 MICR printer. They would like to have the MICR printer print the routing, account and check numbers on the bottom of the check. Is this as simple as getting a set of barcode fonts and adding the appropiate bank numbers to the frx and changing the font? Are there special barcode fonts needed to print bank routing information? There are special characters that separate the numbers. How are these added?

There is a specific MICR font for this purpose. On some printers you can install a cartridge or a SIMM or DIMM module to get this font. I don't know about the InfoPrint 1145 printer specifically, though. There are also software MICR fonts available, for example look at www.fonts.com. The special characters that separate the numbers are part of the MICR font character set and should be included in whatever solution you go with.
