Hi folks,
A particular system which I maintain has several reports which make use of the LinePrinter font in the HP LaserJet 4SI printer driver.
Since HP saw fit to remove that font from their driver in future versions, these reports do not print correctly with any other driver -- and they need to.
What I'm attempting to do is find a substitute TrueType font -- as identical in height, width, and character spacing as possible. I've tried running a little utility I wrote to compare FONTMETRIC(1) and TXTWIDTH() values of two fonts for a known string, but that returns bogus info when I compare the actual text using the fonts it suggests as matches for those values.
Any thoughts?
TIA,
